Hertha 0 - 1 Hannover

There. Hertha, usually seen as an established force in the Bundesliga, is tumbling towards their secon relegation in three years. As usual megalomania, carelessness and signing a totally inept coach because he has a name.

My football club are even more lowly, I assure you. When I started supporting them, they were amateur and not in the football leagues. Now, they have already been runners-up in the Scottish Cup and are teetering on the brink of promotion to the to most lofty league in the land - alongside the likes...

Not to compare my lowly little football club to the sufferings of a great nation, but it also sums up what it's like to suport Hertha.

So how did it go? Anyone do a Port Said after the game? Any furniture in the House of the Baw in need of repair?

From my recollection of the first film, Lisbeth had to save Mikael because he was already being hanged. So after slamming Martin once or twice with the golf club, she slammed the golf club against the handrail to let Mikael off the hook. Martin used that moment to make for the door. Maybe she was st...

I am usually someone with a very bad taste in film. That 2001 is my abolutely anassailably all time favourite is one of my very few moments of good taste in film. The relationship began badly, when my parents lured the ten-year old into the cinema in 1979 to give him a little cool-down from Star War...

Heid, Wikipedia links hopping brings up one question for me: Rangers seems to by the club of the Unionists. What brings an avowed Nationalist to be in that club's ranks?

Gosh. There isn't a clarinet in the world that expensive, and you could get a REALLY great violin.

Collector's value aside, how much do you think would such a guitar be worth jusdging from quality alone?

OK, so listening to classical music is like being a televangelist preacher, and listening to AC/DC is like relaxing in a homosexual brothel. Got it :P I was spot on there, wasn't I? Is this thread now official hijacked? Someone else, say something about the guitar, please . . . OK. This YouTuber us...

Rather, I'd say it's like the televangelist preacher who likes to relax in a homosexual brothel from time to time and then realizes he' really starts to like it.

Same from here. I chose to grow up on nothing but classical music, but I've always had that nagging feeling this could have been a bad choice. Especially when I'm hearing an electric guitar. This is not the first time I've heard you say something like this, and then (as now), it makes me wonder - w...

They tend to get ever more predictable. The thing is, if you observe a large solar flare and can determine that it is being hurled earthward, you can pretty much count down to impact.

KLA2, I agree with your assessment of the relative gravity of acts perpetrated by undisciplined marines vs. those perpetrated by the Taliban. However, two points: The word "undisciplined marine" itself should raise hairs in the US military command. If we (as in "The West") claim ...

Interesting question. I don't think they have the institutions to legislate one. Are there any English instituttion (exept the national sports associations) that aren't also British? The secession of Russia from the USSR was at least legally possible, even though it brought said USSR to ana immediat...

I listened to a feature about the Scottish referendum plans on Deutschlndfunk (kind of a German NPR) recently. They said that at the moment, only about a third of voters favoured independence, while a majority would probably support an intermediate model of strong regional autonomy without secession...

You'll have a lot of sky to watch before that thing gets boring. Also, you are teaching me a lesson in humility. Buying a telescope in Scotland is the antithesis to my constant whining about the weather in Soggy City.

I agree with both of you. I was just communicating my amazement that Malcolm Young seemed to see AC/DCs albums more in the line of albums with a common conceptl like, say, The Wall.
