Re: What sports teams do you support?

Table points in the Rugby Championship: New Zealand: 10 South Africa: 5 Argentina: 4 Australia: 0 No action this weekend. Next two matches are Saturday, Sep 8, New Zealand/Argentina and South Africa/Australia. I thought I would be on the great metal beast in the sky at the time, but now I am rethink...

Re: Buttons

I know logic systems and relay systems, so I am aware that pushing the button repeatedly does not bring it sooner I’m not sure that that’s always true anymore. The building I used to work in had a bank of lifts, and sometimes one zipped right past us, even though the button was pressed. (Overloaded...

^this^

There’s always someone like Trump. Used to be, hardly anyone voted for them. Now they do.

When Trump fails to bring back the good jobs at the saw mill, which way will it go? Intensification, or the pendulum swinging the other way.

Re: Brit-in

I would be surprised if, once Brexit takes place, the UK (with or without Scotland, as the case may turn out to be) would be readmitted on anything like the same terms it has now. Euro will be required, etc.

At least, that's my guess.

Re: Rest in Peace: Senator John McCain

The thinking was that he was perceived as a liberal and that Palin would bring the conservatives in. As Heid says, not the best judgment call. But still all in all a good man. I think that election was where it all started to go wrong for people who might have liked him before. The Republican party...

Re: President Donald J. Trump

I've never understood why this giant-sized twat wanted to be president in the first place. His life must have been pretty good. Enough money to do just about whatever he likes, he could be enjoying retirement if he likes, or continuing in his business ventures if that's his preference. Either one of...

Because it was too well guarded. I mean, duh. The same reason the allies didn't use it to invade France.

Re: It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia

Discovered this a few weeks ago on Netflix, having never heard of it before. Surprised to discover it's a very long-running sit-com, with it's 13th series just about to start. Anyway, has anybody seen It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia ? We love it, and have binge watched the entire thing in the las...

Re: ISIS Beatles

If these are who I think they are, they were nicknamed the "Beatles" by their captives, because there were four of them (this appears to be a subset), and because of their accents.

The actual Beatles were not too happy about this.

Unless these are different people - are they?
