The rub is, Union was an Eastern and Herha a Western club. After reunification, there was one unification friendly, and after that the two teams parted company. Down to Fourth League for Union, up to Champions League for Hertha. After Hertha's digraceful relegation and Union's heroic ascendion, they...

Union Berlin 1 - 1 Hertha BSC

OK, everything went smoothly and nicely.
Heid, maybe the lack of acrimony in this derby stems from the fact that the two teams have NEVER met in professional football before. Quite unlike the Old Firm, and quite unlike Dortmund vs. Schalke.

Hey, don't worry, as we saw in 2008, you can reach Eruopean Finals with that kind of strategy. I am not sure, though, that "catenaccio" is the right word for Glasgows way of playing. Hatin Italian football with a passion, in my book catenaccio , with unnerving certitude, always scores a go...

From within Windows, no. Crazy. Why do they offer the deinstall version at all? I thought the very intention was to be able to separate some piece of hardware from the system. For external and stick drives, and peripherals like cameras. Stuff you actual intend to unplug. Well, yes. There's that stu...

From within Windows, no. Crazy. Why doo they offer the deinstall version at all? I thought the very intention was to be able to separate some piece of hardware from the system. You might be able to go into your BIOS and deactivate the drive there though. Then Windows won't see it at all. And that i...

Funny hardware management

So, the old 300 GB hard drive in my desktop started acting funny- It refused to boot twice in the course of two weeks. At the computer store they found bad areas in the boot sector, did some repair to make the machine usable again and recommended to re-install the entire system on a new hard drive. ...

Germany 6 - 1 Azerbaijan (coached, would you believe it, Heid, by one Hans-Hubert Vogts of Korschenbroich, Germany) in a European Cup qualifier. The Germans were a charm to watch. Intelligent, playful, inventive, physically strong. I can't remember a time when it was so much fun to see them play. Ye...

Over here, everything as usual:
Belgium 0 - 1 Germany

The Germans have a habit of scoring a painful and inglorious victory in the first qualifier after a big tournament. They should be on their way to Poland and Ukraine in relative safety. But beware the Turks....

Nah, no thoughts about social justice from me. If a fine is always going to be, say, a weeks wages for the offender, then it should have about the same effect on offenders of all incomes and act as a deterrent to a similar extent across the board. Which I reckon is a good thing. OK, the fines come ...

Arneb , are you not more worried about losing to Union in the cross town derby? Personally, no. I always had a soft spot for Union, as they were the Eastern underdog club which was always harassed by the Stasi and their ilk when Stasi club BFC Dynamo Berlin reigned supreme in the East. Also, both H...

Who are the Arabs and dirty Hibbees, btw?

Second League is soo tough. I dread the day when they will lose to SC Paderborn 07 or Wismut Aue... It's a bad, bad dream, and it could become the grim reality so soon.
