Re: Shane McGowan is dead.

The BBC says he is a “lovable soul”. They did put it in quotation marks.

I looked that one up g-one and I am now better informed, but no wiser. Local farm colloquialism. 'That's prime' vs 'oh, that's chaff'. Was responding to the previous posts. :) Ah, and all becomes clear. Ducati 748 was a real weapon, which is why it killed so many middle aged men who bought them hav...

If you're in the mood, with enough money and time on your hands, AND you happen to be in Königs-Wusterhausen near Berlin, you may want to take the bus line 735, 7 min before 7:35 a. m. on a Saturday, have yourself driven to Berlin-Brandenburg International Airport (BER) and take flight Tr 735 (oper...

I think one is the only non-negative integer score that is not possible :)

It seems the place where he used to work is offering to represent the food-cart vendor, pro bono, if he wishes to take legal action.

Stuart Seldowitz

This individual appears to have worked in multiple capacities in the Obama administration.

It sounds like he is not working anywhere now, after the videos were made public.

But, for 728 - the Lombard King Liutprand gave parts of Latium to the papacy, more or less creating the Papal States.

Re: What sports teams do you support?

It isn’t cricket. Speaking of which, we're getting a 24,000 seat cricket stadium built about a half a mile from where we live. I have no idea why. So I see one proposed in Oswego, and one already existing in Bolingbrook. But the one in Bolingbrook is not exactly what I would call a "stadium&qu...

Re: What sports teams do you support?

It isn’t cricket.

Went to the Irish pub around the corner, to watch the World Cup in this sport I don’t understand at all.

I think I have the very simple basics done. Working on the rest.

Apparently this will last eight hours though. I don’t think I’ll be here that long.

Nothing New Under the Russian Sun

Not exactly new, but I just found it. I warn people not to believe this. More than half of them are fanatics;...

Pūteketeke Wins NZ Poll for Bird of the Century

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-australia-67376814

This campaign was unusual in that John Oliver, a comedian with both US and UK citizenship, worked hard to turn out the vote for the pūteketeke.

“This is what democracy is all about - America interfering in foreign elections," Mr Oliver said.
