Yes, I agree. I very much liked it.

Cockney Stalin took some getting used to, but since he died early on, that was only an issue for a short time.

Re: Death of Stalin

Finally saw it. Glad I did. Even if it was CGI, I liked the Red Square scene, as I was there a few weeks back. Beria was just creepy. The incompetent Malenkov was hilarious. Got to see Brezhnev in the theatre audience for a few seconds at the end. Zhukov was a little too “Lord Flashheart” for my lik...

Re: What sports teams do you support?

I suspect Argentina will be put to the sword. Also, just checked, the two teams drew in 1985, but Argentina have never won. A draw means only South Africa can stop New Zealand. A win (for New Zealand) means no one can. A win (for Argentina) means South Africa can still win, and Argentina possibly c...

I am having a rather difficult time finding anyone who is airing it here, which is a bit odd, as it is the more important match.

Re: What sports teams do you support?

South Africa 23 - 12 Australia, final.

Crucially, South Africa fail to get the bonus point, which means New Zealand can end the tournament in a few hours by winning against Argentina, with or without the bonus point.

South Africa scores against Australia within one minute :)

Australia cannot win the tournament. Realistically, South Africa need to win to stay alive.

Re: President Donald J. Trump

Many people have said he's completely different when the lights are off and the cameras aren't running. I don't know. All I see is a moron. I've heard he's a total suck-up in person. Wouldn't know, I've never met him. I've never met any US president. I am told that as a very young child, I met some...

Re: President Donald J. Trump

If you watch recordings of Trump 20 years ago, there’s quite a difference in the way he speaks relative to today.

Well I was thinking "ally" (green), "enemy" (red), and somewhere in between (yellow).

I was thinking of how well the countries get on with each other.

US and Russia do have diplomatic representation, so it can't be that.

Re: Guess what the Graph Shows!

Well it has to be more about foreign policy/diplomacy than about economic ties, because there's quite a lot of trade between the US and China.

Re: What sports teams do you support?

Actually, I think there is a scenario in which Argentina can lose the match that begins in a few minute, and still stay alive, but it requires them to lose by seven or less, and also to score three tries (or more) more than Australia. This is a theoretical possibility, because Australia could get a ...

Re: What sports teams do you support?

Well that game isn’t going the way many expected. Not the way I expected! New Zealand 34 - 36 South Africa. New Zealand win a bonus point, South Africa do not. New Zealand could have won the tournament in this match, but instead, all four teams still have a chance. Australia v Argentina coming up. ...

Re: What sports teams do you support?

New Zealand 17 - 24 South Africa at the half. If New Zealand win and get the bonus point, they have clinched the tournament, even though this is only the seventh match in a twelve-match tournament. If New Zealand win and do not get the bonus point, South Africa and Australia are out, but there is a ...

Re: What sports teams do you support?

Anywhere exciting? What do you find exciting? I may have commented on it elsewhere. I'm guessing the All Blacks will run away with it again? So far, the results are very much consistent with that outcome. South Africa doesn’t seem to be what it once was, and Australia may even be eliminated after j...

Re: On this day in history...

Lenin receives two gunshot wounds to the hip and shoulder at the hands of Dora Kaplan, who definitely knew better, but was still executed two days later. He was never the same after that. (Whether that's a good thing or not, you can decide.) I took a picture of his Rolls Royce in the museum in Mosc...
