Re: Happy 12.12.12

Of course on the other side of The Pond they'll write it as 12.12.12.

Re: On to the Scottish referendum

And Ireland no longer exists, the unoccupied 26 counties having gone south last century.

This is the main question of Scotland and the EU, NATO etc. do we inherit the rights and obligations of the UK?

Re: Streetview Simulacra

I hadn't realised that The Unknown Battle is now thought to have taken place nearby or I would have had a look.

The A9 (Scotland's Killer road/Road of Death) was actually surprisingly placid and mellow.

Re: Streetview Simulacra

This sideways looking head in the rocks is pretty well known locally, as it's visible from the major road south to Heidland. This is one I knew about from Real Life, and went looking for in streetview. It's much clearer in reality than in that picture. I didn't make it quite as far north as this at...

Re: RIP Patrick Moore

That is how he always struck me, as a man who knew his way around the universe but who couldn't find his way out of a 'phonebox. :D :-D

The countries at the top and bottom don't really surprise me, other than I thought DR Congo would be lower.

Nurse! He's at it again . . .

Everyone's favourite unhinged Scotsman is trying to break the speed record for a pedal powered vehicle. His latest test session was on a pissing wet day on an old NATO airbase in the west of Scotland. Because that is what you do if you are doing it on the cheap. Obree still competes in time t...

Idiot media.

I'm am heartily sick of hearing how Kate Middleton is "the future queen" and her child will be "the future king or queen". (Let's just ignore the whole England/UK thing.) She will only be queen if her husband becomes king; which assumes he will live to take over and that she will...

Re: What sports teams do you support?

Rugby World Cup draw has been made. We are in with RSA and Samoa, we won't beat the former but should beat the latter. England, the hosts, have Australia and Wales. :glp-1rof1: Either England go out or the Welshies do. I did notice that German won a recent qualifier against Moldova, you might be the...
