Re: Any Facts that Fit the Numbers

Art. 90 paragraph 2 of the German Constitution is not about lofty ideals; it regulates that the Federation owns and administrates all Federal Highways (Bundesautobahnen). It may use private firms to do the administrating, but those in turn, have to be owned by the Federation, including any subsidiar...

Re: Make a band edible

And of course, there was Cream. Whose drummer was named Ginger Baker. Can't get much more edible than that. Maybe if the other members had been Deli Clapton and Bake Brews.

Re: Make a band edible

Any specific rules on what/how much we are allowed to change?

Hershey's KISS?
Black Sabbath Roast?
Motörbread?

Re: What sports teams do you support?

SpVgg 1 - 1 HSV Ditto.... Played 148, won 70, drawn 29, lost 49. Interestingly, this double drawn result is bad for all four family clubs: Hertha, Greuther and deä Clubb are all losing sight of the promotion placements, while Hamburg have now conceded their playoff spot to Düsseldorf, who trounced K...

Re: What sports teams do you support?

Hetha 3 - deä Glubb

Famili peace preserved, both teams heading for mid-table mediocrity, and bad for the count.

Played 147, won 70, drawn 28, lost 49.

Re: What sports teams do you support?

Tough weekend ahead for Arneb and his in-laws: Hertha is hosting deä Glubb tonight, while Greuther try to rain on Hamburg's parade tomorrow. Wish me, and the count, good luck for the Easter weekend.

Re: On this day in history...

Fifty years ago today, the first VW Golf rolled off the production line in Wolfsburg, Lower Saxony, Germany. With the eighth generation fresh into production (it will be the last that runs on a carbon-based internal combustion engine), I think we can call the type a moderate success.

That is... hard. I'll take the fisting because that, at least, can happen to both sexes.

Re: Any Facts that Fit the Numbers

The Anglo-Saxon King Alfred, who is the only English King to bear the epithet "the Great", is one of only two Anglo-Saxon kings whose will has survived the ravages of time. He died in 899 AD.

Re: Any Facts that Fit the Numbers

I feel compelled to use the occasion of my 70,000th post on this board to remind you of the fact that the 896 would have been up for discussion in your post. U.N. Security Council Resolution 896 discussed the possible establishment of a peace force in Abchasia - in 1994, 30 years ago. It's a grippin...

Re: On this day in history...

The first democratic German constitution was passed 175 years ago today. Yes, that long ago. It was discussed and passed in the Paulskirche in Frankfurt am Main as a result of the 1848 revolution. It died when the then Prussian King refused to take the crown out of the hands of the people instead of...
