I mean, there's over a thousand countries out there, and knowing every single one (and their capitals) is a lesson in incredible memorization. That must be the case, as you know at least 800 of them of which I am wholly unaware... Also, you have to consider that going up to some random person on th...

If you get the left and right reversed, it will have no effect upon sound quality, just the sound image will be reversed. If you connect it with only one side wrong, that can be trouble. Yes, but I just couldn't live with the thought of the left and right being reversed, even if they sound pretty m...

No one cares about the "poor starving countries", because they rarely have much as far as shipping and economy goes. If they get blown off the face of the earth, it would make no appreciable difference to most people. They would feel it in their pocketbooks, though. (To their surprise.) L...

Back to the subject matter (maybe someone will start a seperate thread): It looks like this guy's days are numbered from the latest stuff I have been reading on cnn foxnews and other news websites. Certainly North Korea is dangerous, and they might really loose their few nukes upon South Korea or conceivably Japan. But they are not exporting much of anything, let alone radical Islam, terrorism, etc. . I have heard that they are exporting nuclear weapon and rocket technology but that could be ...

Does cutting the grass quickly mean there is less pollen thrown up into the air?

Well, yes it does, but the quality of cut is not so good. I think it would be better if it were slower. It is possible to throttle down, but that also slows the speed of the blades...

Okay... If you can get a good digital recording, you can use the program MP3Gain to boost the level to something reasonable if it's too soft. OK, I'll have a look - eventually :) I do recall that this goofy cable I bought had no way (or at least no way I could discern) to tell what was right and wh...

Oh, people *would* care; they'd say, "Those poor people", and maybe some humanitarian groups would band together and try to make a difference. But for the most part, the majority of the population would not push for great changes in the Status Quo; not like what happened after 9/11. I am ...

I don't know what you know, so... Unlike analog recording such as to tape, it is absolutely critical in digital recording never to go into the red. In analog it simply clips or compresses, but in digital it can't do that, so the artifacts are awful. In a way it is similar to entering too many digit...
