The British are coming, the British are coming

To space. I found this little atricle interesting about a British effort to make reusable orbital plane.

Looks like something out of a Gerry Anderson TV series, with some bits recycled from the Concord

Was Richard Branson at your corporate bunworry, or was this second hand?

It's been a fortnight... I don't recall hearing anything about their powered flight. Regarding not holding your breath - you have chosen wisely.

Exercise for the reader: Compute the number of furlongs the Virgin Galactic Spaceship One travelled during this past fortnight.

He was having dinner in the same London restaurant as me once, but I didn't meet him.

The very day of my comment, too! I don't recall seeing any news coverage of it. Still, good on them.

Geneva's a great place. Bloody expensive, though. The French joke used to be that prices were similar in Paris and Geneva - if something cost 100 francs in Paris, it would also cost 100 francs in Geneva :)

I note their chief pilot is from the village of Helmsdale, which is on the road between where I used to live and where I live now. Know it very well. Small world, and all that.

Never been to Geneva, but a life spent with the feet up apart from when they're on a snowboard or moving you towards chocolate sounds quite good. Watches, not so much. I can't imagine I'd care much what the time was if I was living a life like that.
