Identify the Island

I guess this one fits in this category as well as it does anywhere.

The trick is to identify the island in the photo, way way way off in the distance, a bit left of centre.



It was taken from somewhere within this frame.

The lion which is visible in the photo is also visible in the Google map image, near the bottom right. I'd see the photo is generally facing towards the southeast, perhaps more east than south.

What is the best way to identify the island?

I'm having some difficulty determining the direction of the photo.

But, I'm thinking the distant islands may be here:

Definitely most likely one of those islands I'd say

I am right now at the same place where the photo was taken. However, this time, I paid attention while on the cable car.

I now believe the more distant islands to be in Indonesia.
