Lift-off scrubbed 10min before schedule due to bad weather dammit

Next shot is 3:22pm EST on Saturday (due to orbital dynamics of ISS)

I have to admit I was thankful for this. We had bad weather here in Illinois too, and my satellite signal was experiencing "rain fade" during the launch window.

One of these days we should have a zoom rocket launch party, where we can catch live launch coverage while plotting global domination!

When that fellow took a balloon up to forty-something thousand metres and then jumped off with a parachute, there was a more-or-less live discussion.

I don't remember if it was done just by making frequent posts in a thread on the topic, or if we used some other mechanism, but we followed and discussed it as it happened.

So are the Americans using this system because it is cheaper than Soyuz, better than Soyuz in some other way, or because it is not Russian? (Or some combination of the three?)

Possibly all three.
The Russians have been spending less and less money, leading to quality control issues, and above all lack of innovation.
