I just remembered something else from the years I served in the Navy as an Intelligence Specialist.
After World War II there were some kids who survived the Atomic Bombs who seemed to be able to do this kind of thing -- summon white orbs in the sky by meditation. I remember the government whisked them away.
In fact, the movie,
Akira, is loosely based on these kids and their abilities. The movie takes place after a fictitious World War III and it is about kids, who survive a hydrogen bombing of Tokyo, and the kids are highly telekinetic, but it is the same premise.
And the point the movie makes is a serious one: The Nature of Consciousness is a mysterious thing. If Consciousness can exist, then almost anything is possible including the creation of the Universe itself.
So maybe this guy has some validity and we are a little foolish to right him off without being able to explain how he does it.
