I've developed a theory which explains the disappearance. Obviously, it's been hijacked. However, it also vanished from radar. The only explanation for this is that the hijackers must have taken a cloaking device on board. Obviously, they would need to have had it inside out (perhaps in a shoe) so that it could pass undetected through security at the airport. Wait until an opportune moment, turn it back the right way round and Bob's your uncle - vanishing plane. All this talk of aliens is fanciful nonsense.

Back in the old "bombs on planes" days I used to argue that since the chance of there being a bomb on the plane was about 1 in 400 million* the secret was to take a bomb onboard yourself, since the chance of there being two bombs on board was infinitesimally small. You had to remember not to detonate your own bomb, of course.

* I forget the exact figure but it was about that.

The plane has phase shifted, but in a way that allows said shift to work as a plot device on Star Trek.

Star Trek theory does sound more familiar and plausible than inter dimensional spaceships and cows. I'm warming to your theory Lianachan.

Ahem!

My spacecraft is neither inter-dimensional nor does it require cows. There may be cows present but they are not necessary.

The ship my theory is based on is the standard type inter-stellar LTS (Large Triangular Spacecraft) as seen in Illinois, Arizona and skies everywhere.

Two Cows

Both in a triangular inter-dimensional spaceship

Provide milk for the passengers of flight 370 whilst in transit to the alien home world.

When the milk runs out, they provide steaks.

Piracy?! Surely there are more credible explanations?

The latest nonsense I heard was that the last radio message was made after the plane landed. Where it landed, or what the range of the radio at ground level would be weren't explained.

Ah splendid, because of course the only way for Iran to get a commercial airliner is to steal one loaded with passengers from thousands of miles away.

To be fair, I don't think the article said that that was the only way Iran could get one. It is the only way for Iran to get one already filled with almost 240 infidels, though.

I love fact #1, which mentions "If the plane had crashed in the ocean anywhere near its intended flight path, the debris almost certainly would have been located by now."
1. It's pretty well established that the plane deviated significantly from its intended flight path. And,
2. No shit, Sherlock.

I think that's always been inevitable. When a plane is hijacked, generally the hijackers make demands of some sort (otherwise, what's the point?).

If the debris field really is MH370, I hope they're able to recover the bright orange black boxes quickly.

I love the sense of distance being shown. "Off the coast of Australia . . ." in the same way that Nova Scotia is off the coast of Scotland.

Well, this is ever so slightly unsettling, though I'm not sure why.

The antipode point for Cyndi's and my residence is right in the middle of the current MH370 search area.

Don't worry, I don't think it crashed so hard that it is burrowing through the earth and about to come up in your back garden.
