Llama Love
(A parody, to the tune of Muskrat Love, by Lance D'Llama © 2006)
With apologies to Willis Alan Ramsey and The Captain & Tenille

Llama, llama firelight
Shavin' your wool and shavin' it right
For my Sweater
Llama wool's better

Llama with brown fleece, llama with tan
Knitting that sweater in llama-land
While I quiver
So cold I shiver

And they sheer and they spin and they knit it
Tryin' it on so I fit it
Soft like the clouds up above
Feels like llama love

Nibbling on grasses, chewing on leaves
Eatin' real good for a healthy fleece and a soft one
It'll be no good
if its course hun

We don't want alpacas
Or guanacos
Llama wool llama, wool it really goes
With my poncho, down here on the rancho

And they sheer and they spin and they knit it
Tryin' it on so I fit it
Soft like the clouds up above
Feels like llama love

Excellent song!

And what was The Captain's name?

Wasn't it "Daryl" something? He was a real star.

I used to, but it had slipped my mind so I took a quick refresher.

Added:

How many of those who have already replied have ever even heard of The Captain & Tenille or Muskrat Love (except KOS)?

There's a radio station in these parts that did one of these Worst N Songs in History contests, and this one made the cut...

IIRC, wasn't Muskrat Love also performed by America before Captain & Tenille had a hit with it?

(I'd look it up but I'm too lazy to start Firefox and wander over to AllMusic.com  )

Drat, I hadn't replied already...

At any rate, though, we played Muskrat Love in college pepband. And while I have heard of The Captain & Tenille, I couldn't have told you any of the songs they recorded.

I remember them, didn't they have a variety show too?

Boy, that Daryl guy just never shut up, did he?
In my hands I hold a candle whose flame is small to see, And if I give but one light to you my life is filled for me.
But...In your hands you hold a torch for many eyes to see, So hold it high that they may light their candlewicks from thee.
