Remember, as a kid, sticking your arm out the window of a car going 80 miles an hour?

Gustav, Cat 1
Imagine cat 2, 3, 4, 5 ...

Wow. Good luck. Good luck to all of you on the southern coast. [-o<

Seven pm CST, leading edge about to reach here. Expecting winds of 35 MPH. We've had worse thunderstorms.

Why were you throwing cats out your car window? That doesn't seem like a very Canadian thing to do. Detroit any time, yes, but not Canada.

From the hurricane center data colective:

Heh. I love you, Enzo. But I think you have your pictures switched for Cat 2 and Cat 5. The Cat 2 picture looks much more full of fury.

I've been in the Canadian wilderness for a few days, but from the absence of much hurricane news on the television, do I take it that the gubmint didn't blow up the levees this time?

That was to lull everyone into a false sense of security.

The Haliburton Hurricane Machine is hurling another one towards the coast as we speak.

We Floridians all blew southward, and it looks like Ike's going to miss us, too. :D

 Compared to where else???

I have been to Montreal. A fine city, with so many fine people. As with USA, it is the politics (of Quebec), not the people that sometimes... annoy.

Chatam is quaint.

I discovered STDs there, many many years ago.

The place where I work sent out this flier about changes to STD coverage in the benefits plan. It took me a while to figure out that that was Short-Term Disability...

Hmmm. They should shop around.

The slogan of Montreal Life ... STD's are our speciality. :P

A Floridian once told me the reason Florida doesn't sink into sea is because Georgia sucks.

Similarly, (and I'm pretty sure I've told this one here before) the reason that South Dakota is so windy is because North Dakota blows and Iowa sucks.
