As Donalds go, he was certainly one of the better ones.

He was in so many great films. Oddball in "Kelly's Heroes" is brilliantly played, the iconic pointing screech in "Invasion of the Body Snatchers", etc, etc. RIP indeed

There's an old movie from 1981, Threshold, where he plays a "world renowned" heart surgeon and Jeff Goldblum plays a heart researcher. It's a fictionalized telling of the first artificial heart.

I think I'm about the only person in the world to have ever heard of it.

I would highly recommend it.
