you're attempting to relate intentional deaths to accidents. it's not about cause, it is about intent.
And now you have done it again - you distinguish death from two different intents, since you object for some reason to the word cause. The fact that people treat these two different cases very differently is exactly the point I wanted to bring out, whether or not you proceed to confirm it a third time.
But, you are certainly correct that auto collisions are indeed, as we call them, accidents. No fatalities ever occur because people are driving in a dangerous manner, after having drunk alcohol, or because they purchased a vehicle with less than the highest safety rating, or due to any other preventable cause (such as driving on an unnecessary trip).
