He's been arrested a few times now, although this is the big one: indicted for actively trying to rig the election. What will be important is the trial itself - as others have pointed out, as this is a Georgia state matter, he can't be pardoned for it, either by himself or a future sympathetic Republican President.
And Republican sympathies are divided. I see Nikki Haley from neighbouring South Carolina sought to attract Republican votes away from Trump by calling him "the most disliked politician in the country", tapping into the fear among many conservatives (including some I know personally) that if he wins the primaries, they could lose the election.
