Yet another country - yet more espionage work. Pray tell us what you have gleaned so far Mactep?

I listened to radio feature about äsouth Sudan yesterday: Many, many problems: No economy, no education or health system, the army that won the independence war torn with rebellion, corruption, corruption, corruption and corruption - but at least they aren't liable to be butchered by the thousands at the the hands of the North's terror regime.

I wish them luck, and success. I expect they will have little of either. :(

Yes, could you imagine having a president without a big hat? What a disaster that would be . . .

You have to go quite a bit farther south than that to hear the click languages, mate :)

They lost their first football match:

CNN is reporting that two of Kenya's three goals were actually South Sudan own goals!

Apparently, they beat Scotland though.

I know you're kidding but that seems to be a common misconception.
All of Sub-Sahara Africa is the same: starving dirt-poor Black people with AK-47s and AIDS running around the jungle. And crocodiles.
As if the no news is good news rule-of-thumb has been changed in no news is like all the bad news.
Most of Africa has plenty of problems but it is hardly a perpetual disaster area. Some places are even doing fairly well.

It will be years before they beat us, but only because it will be years before we are good enough to get to another World Cup.

Yep, HD, I was poking fun at my fellow Americans and our ignorance iof geography and the world in general. SOme of us ignoramuses are even running for president. Most Americans cannot find Iraq or Afghanistan on a world map, and we are fighting wars there. Sudan? We are lucky if we have even heard of it. And Burkina Faso was a movie actress, right?

Apparently the Sahara keeps pygmies and Arabs from shooting at each other with their AK47s.

Forgive me: Why would a crocodile with any sense eat an AIDs victim holding an AK-47 - hippos sound safer, at least for a while.

Come on, Tubes. You can joke with us, but in the end, must be honest. No way that is real.

The trees in the background are not indigenous.

As I understand it, that's the little brother of the pair, too!

No thanks, I'll pass on that trip. I was amazed at how little security was really on the boat - just a fence-like thing around it. No way, no how, would I be getting on that one. Nuh-uh!
Is there such a thing?

The Blaze. Not one of Murdoch's papers, I trust.

OK. Tubeswell. Sorry. I. Doubted. You.

And, I made that up about the trees.

Gators 'n' crocs are one of the animals that - should they disappear from the face of this earth - I would not miss one bit.
