Sooner than I thought

Apparently we already have "truthers" and deniers about the Sandy Hook school shooting. Between the massive government conspiracies and the Jews, there seems little room for any other explanations for anything.

From the article: "Retired psychologist Gene Rosen was hailed as a hero for taking six terrified first-graders into his home and giving them fruit juice during the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre."

I always blame the juice.

There does seem to be an increase in the number of nutters about these days, or maybe teh interwebs just let them be heard more easily.

Edit to add: I just came across this. Dubious or contradictory information in the immediate aftermath of an event isn't a sign that no-one knows what has just happened but is of course evidence that the cover-up hasn't been fully effective. #-o

I'm not convinced that there's more nutters out there. I think it's a real possability that previously folks who said stupid stuff would get ignored and pointed and laughed at. Now, they get an audience.

Well, here we are.
A bus station is where a bus stops. A train station is where a train stops. On my desk, I have a work station.

After further thought, I think the media is also to blame. 24 hour news channels have to show something and they are all desperate for scoops so every rumour is reported as fact, which doesn't normally matter but it provides the idiots with soundbites and screenshots. No matter how quickly these are replaced or discredited they exist as evidence of something.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: the internet is the greatest invention in the history of mankind and it's also the worst.
Is there such a thing?

Well, that makes sense, doesn't it? It's rare when a really useful tool is only really useful to do 'good.' (or bad, I suppose).
