I, like everybody else I suppose, only really know him from Dad's Army. I recall spotting him in a few other things over the years (I'm pretty sure he's in a Carry On film).

He was in episodes of most comedies over the years but he was best known for Dad's Army.

I've generally become aware of it over the last few years, and just the other day, saw the DVD collection at HMV. Didn't buy it.
