Habermas got it right, the modern state relies on a publicity of representation which puts power in the hands of representatives, and instead of democratic emancipation from authoritarian rule (which the emergence of the bourgeois public sphere sought to achieve by displacing the power of the aristocracy), we have authoritarian rule by representatives who are anaemic to democracy.
A bus station is where a bus stops. A train station is where a train stops. On my desk, I have a work station.

If you are seeing an apparent paradox, that means you are missing something.

They like to kick the nuts of the powerful now and than, but not in such a big way. You know, a former laureate might just send in the drones to give them a reminder who is in charge of keeping the peace here.

I think they've been regretting that choice for a while now. I think.

But, with his predecessor, who knows - when they heard Norway awarded one of their enemies a prize, they might have gone and invaded Nauru.
