Unfortunately, I'm of the impression that many of the Republicans voted in got there on a platform which wholly consisted of "I promise to do everything in my power to stop the Democrats." Hopefully, this doesn't necessarily translate into yet more expansion the Patriot Act and other similar law.

What I meant was, perhaps the president will launch such attacks against some of the new people working at the Capitol.

Any differences between the two parties in this regard is often a bit hard for us damn furriners'n ter'rists to detect.

I know plenty of people who enthusiastically welcomed Obama's ascendency, who now find him worse than GWB on civil liberties. Although some of them are a little shy about saying so, maybe they're afraid of getting assassinated.

South Park took this to the extreme with their election episode, which ended with Randy Marsh saying
