Yes, I don't quite get that one. Every single one of the democratic electors could have voted for someone else, if the republicans don't break ranks also, it doesn't matter in the slightest.

I guess for the democratic electors, the possibilities are (i) making a futile gesture by voting for someone else, or (ii) trying to control who is eligible in the House of Representatives vote if enough republican electors did follow.

I wouldn't rule out impeachment either. There are still a lot of Republicans in congress that don't like him too much. And that whole Trump Hotel on Pennsylvania Ave. in DC has him in violation of a clause in the Constitution the moment he is sworn in.
