According to one MP, Donald Trump had killed Brexit by stating that in any discussions with the UK, the possibility of American firms having access to the UK health care market should be a subject of negotiation.

Did he?

I have one UK friend who is asking me to sign a petition against this, but as a non-UK person, I think it would be inappropriate for me to do that.

I should add that I have read opinion columns stating that no-deal Brexit is dead, that Brexit with a deal is dead, and cancellation of Brexit is also dead.

Since I can't think of any other possibilities, it seems we have something of an existential crisis.

Internet law No. 1: if you point out a spelling or grammar error in a post you'll make one yourself doing so.

EXCEPT if you're a stable genius, then it was a genius' invention, not an error.

I don't know why, but a lot of right-wing Americans struggle with spelling. I know, I've seen it!

I've got people in Canberra right now, and you wouldn't believe what they're telling me.

Did you know that his middle name was Hussein? Not many people know that.

It sounds like impeachment proceedings are imminent. It likely won't end with Trump's removal, but here's to hoping, anyway!

As speaker, Pelosi is a wheeler and dealer, running the show. I agree with one pundit who observed: she has been aware all along, but looking to collect the needed votes, a behind the scenes effort. It seems now she had them, and that is what made it time to go forward.

The President has called for the chairman of the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, Adam Schiff, to be "arrested". This would be the beginning of cold, hard tyranny, the end of America as we know it.

What do y'all think, is there any point at which the right wing is going to wake up the fact that this mafioso wants to end America?

If the executive branch of the government arrests a member of the congress, for a speech that congressweasel had made, and you were another congressweasel, how would you feel about that?

Even if you were a political ally of the president, would you feel comfortable with the idea that congressweasels can be arrested for speech that is displeasing to the president?

Might that influence your voting in any upcoming impeachment proceedings?

Well, that was my question, right? The problem here is that thee are two ways to deal with that kind of pressure. You can try to remove the tyrant (by way of the impeachment process in the present case) because you start to fear that not only women, blacks, immigrants and Democrats may become a target. You may become a target. Or you side with the tyrant hoping that only women, blacks, immigrants and Democrats will remain the target.

It's the first way of reacting that takes guts, the second... well, all you need is the hope that you've chosen the winning side, and that the winning side will continue to chose you.

"When the Nazis came for the Communists, I remained silent; I wasn't a Communist, after all; when they locked up the Social Democrats, I remained silent; I wasn' a Social Democrat, after all; when they came for the Trade Unionionists, I remained silent; I wasn't a Trade Unionist, after all; when they came for me, no-one was left to protest"
