The Bruhaha

Postby Lianachan » Thu Jan 04, 2018 3:29 pm

This is an outrage! First big recipe change in 117 years, and just to dodge a new sugar tax that's coming into effect. Petition to get them to leave it the fuck alone currently has 8,600 signatures.

What percentage of those 8,600 do you figure are dentists?

It is one of two drinks (the other one was Dr. Pepper) that ever made me want to throw up. I remember their tastes to be vaguely similar but I am probably ot the one to tell as both these abominable concoctions were off my tongue very soon.

Quite high I think.

It tastes sickeningly sweet, it makes my teeth hurt to think about it.

It's a fantastic treatment for a hangover, though.

The only thing I would take issue with in the article is the claim that it has universal appeal. Prestonfield House serves it mainly as a joke since weegie wedding guests kept asking for it at wedding receptions, they are mocking their western neighbours. I've also never seen it available in a restaurant but that is also probably a Glasgow/Edinburgh thing.

Probably a Rest of Scotland/Edinburgh thing then, as it's pretty ubiquitous all over the heelans an' eelans too.
