Most things are present on most surfaces, if you use sensitive enough detectors.

POOP! There’s poop EVERYWHERE!

Especially if you have an infant in the house ... thank goodness those days are long gone ...

I am almost out of shaving cream.

I haven't shaved for two weeks either. I am entering the Jedi Master stage of my progression to Herman Toothrot.

What is this "shaving" of which we speak?

Other than a few months in 1980, I last shaved in about 1965.

It is something, like many other things, that grows on you.

I used to hate it. I would frequently skip days.

On three occasions, I let it go until it became a fairly full and bushy beard. One of my two times atop Mount Whitney (the highest I’ve ever been outside an aeroplane) was bearded.

With the proliferation of multi-cartridge blades, I generally found it to be more bearable, and reached a point where I didn’t feel right if I skipped a day.

Within the past year, I’ve switched over from foam-in-a-can and cartridge blades to proper cream, badger hair brush, and double-edged safety razor. Now if I use foam-in-a-can and a cartridge blade, I feel like I haven’t shaven at all.

This bloody Inflation in standards.

Was 1980 when you were in?

In 1965, I’m pretty confident that as an infant in a faraway (from you) land, I did not shave.

I wore a full beard, then in 1980 I was recruited for and put in charge of a large concession in a large theme/amusement park. I worked on the park property so had to follow their rules. And no facial hair was one of them. The park employed many teens, and if you ever saw a teen trying to grow a beard...well it is sad. But if you let one, you have to let all.

I ran the large arcades and some other attractions, all coin-operated. My arcade was the single largest revenue producer after the gate in that park. Food service made more, but was scattered into dozens of locations. HArdest I ever worked in my life. 9AM to 12 midnight seven days a week for the 100 day main season (end of May to early September). Jacket and tie, Virginia summer heat and humidity, all my locations open to the outdoors.

I forgot about my stay with the county, that was 1969 rather than 1965. Yeah, no beards there. That was the era they shaved your head when they arrested you, at least if they considered you a hippie.

Yes, I suspect my not shaving will come to an abrupt halt on Tuesday when I have to take an online class. Although I suppose I could simply not turn the video on.

I've been down to shaving once a week, and going to the barber's once a quarter, for, like, ever. We have the good luck in G'many that the shirt and tie cult is largely absent from the medical field. I regularly go to work in jeans, white t-shirt and sweater, than keep the white t-shirt on when I change into the white pants and coat. I consider it a big part of my quality of life not to be in the smart clothing race.

I'm in a suit and tie wearing profession but in practice I never wear a jacket in the office so I stopped buying them. There is one hanging in my office but I suspect it doesn't match any of the suit trousers I currently have. I haven't worn a suit since a funeral three years ago. My commute involves about 35 minutes of walking so I usually wear walking shoes rather than black ones and I often don't bother changing when I get to the office. None of my clients seem to care.

I didn't own a suit when I buried my mother, and I didn't own one when I buried my father. And I sure as hell am not going to buy one for anyone else.

Indeed, I’m a year or so from retirement and if I can get to then without buying another one that is me done with them.

BoJo in hospital with an unrelentung Covid fever. That sounds serious. It's this point, at around day 10, that they usually start to go South.

Is SARS-CoV-2 "easier" to transmit than a normal influenza virus, or are they similar?

So is it like a 25% chance of death for BoJO now?

Scotland's Chief Medical Officer has resigned, after telling us to stay at home she went to her second home two weekends in a row.

I suppose the indication for hospitalizing a VIP might be made a bit more generously than for any John Smith, but "precautionary" sounds like the typical soothing, euphemistic things you read when VIPs fall ill.
