Not unfitting that on the day of his exauguration, the USA went above 400 k in Corona deaths. That is about as much as the total American losses in WWII (about 5,000 lower). No better number to express what harm this man has brought to his country.

I was really hoping to see him taken into custody when he deplaned in Florida. Hopefully soon...

BoJo the Clown’s regime has killed far more British civilians than Hitler’s regime managed to, while we’re making WW2 comparisons.

Well, not with regard to Corona: The UK stands at c. 95 k deaths in the pandemic, and WWII cost c. 330 k lives.

You people complain too much.

According to this ranking, both Andrew Johnson and James Buchanan were worse than Trump.

67 - 70k UK civilian deaths in WW2, which is what I'm talking about.

Well, that list was made before Trump was impeached the first time.

Yeah, 2018. I'd like to see an updated version.

The Scottish Government have apparently started debating whether to serve an Unexplained Wealth Order on Trump relating to the funding of the purchases of his golf clubs.

I take it "club" here means the establishment where one plays golf, not the sticks one uses to strike the ball . . .

I think he prefers the term "resort" but yes, the establishments. Sadly, but correctly, the Scottish Parliament decided that this would be political interference in the judicial sphere. Unfortunately Trump never took the same view.

In case you haven't heard, the Senate is currently trying Trump's second impeachment. The prosecution showed hours of footage of Trump and friends inciting the mob, and the mob then sacking the Capitol. The defense complained about due process, how much Trump is hated by Democrats, and even floated the idea that maybe the election was, in fact, stolen. The only direct refutation of the prosecution was that Trump once uttered 'be peaceful.' Meanwhile, a handful of Republican senators, who are supposed to be part of the jury, met with defense lawyers to discuss strategy. After a highly-loaded question-and-answer session yesterday, the Senate met today to vote on whether to hear witness testimony. Amazingly, despite the fact that they did, indeed, agree to hear witnesses, no witnesses are going to be called.

In all, I think the prosecution did a better job of showing malfeasance on Trump's part than in the previous impeachment trail, but probably overdid the insurrection footage, and totally and inexplicably dropped the ball on not calling any witnesses. I'm sure 100 witnesses swearing on Bibles saying that Trump ordered a hit on Pence wouldn't change anything, but the absence of any witness testimony is going to be leveraged by Republicans to no end.

A whole seven Republicans voted guilty. They are being excoriated by the party that was crying 'unity!' just a week or two ago.

LMAO

I found this link.

The funny part is, at one of Trump's golf courses, he tends to kick the ball so much, the caddies call him "Pelé"

I assume that the author is Rick Reilly. If so, most of what from him is pretty neutral, but the way he talks about Trump's lying and cheating is almost endearing, despite the fact that he took umbrage with Trump's championship claims. Well, Rick, it bothers me a lot, especially when we've seen that that's how he continued to behave as President. But yeah, golf is much more serious.

I think that’s a good assumption, given what is written at the bottom.

Rick Reilly's book ‘Commander in cheat: how golf explains Trump’ is published by Headline

But, however valid your points may be, they are detracting from the absolutely hysterical fact that the caddies called him “Pelé” because he kicked the ball so much.

Do you remember how de Gaulle pardoned all of his would-be assassins, except for Jean Bastien-Thiry? This individual claimed at his trial, that he did not intend to kill de Gaulle, but to kidnap him. When asked how he intended to Immobilise de Gaull, Bastien-Thiry said the kidnappers would take away de Gaulle’s eyeglasses. He went before a firing squad.

The one thing Trump will hate more than anything is ridicule.
