Nope, but that and the correct answer are from broadly the same kind of time (answer was a few years later), spawned numerous increasingly shit sequels and have been remade more recently. There are also some cross over films between the two.

No. My knowledge of horror films extends to the facts that one of the series has a bloke in a hockey mask and one has a bloke with a melted face, and that those two series are probably the two I guessed for this. I don't enjoy horror films so I doubt if I have seen more than two or three in my life, and I probably didn't see the end of them. They aren't bad films, I just don't enjoy them.

No mainstream Hollywood, big stars, big budget. This is a short scene near the start of the film, and I suspect they only used Delhi since they also filmed a brief scene at a much better known landmark in a nearby city.
