Not at all. It was the most interesting I could find for 279. It's a boring number. :wink:

Wikipedia reports that 284 degrees Celsius is the flash point of paper. Ray Bradbury would disagree, claiming it is 232.8 degrees Celsius. (or Fahrenheit 451)

Hmmm.

The Intel 80286, introduced February 1, 1982, operated at a blinding clock speed of 12.5 (later pushed as high as 25) MHz, and could address up to 16 meg of RAM.

If you owned one, you had something to brag about.

My first very own PC was a second-hand Tulip 286.
Set me back fl. 600,- (A tenth of the new price of only a few years earlier.)
It had a whopping 20 MB hard-drive though.

My latest set-up costs about the same, adjusted for inflation.
It's about a thousand times more powerful.

The Bagger 288 (Excavator 288), built by the German company Krupp for the energy and mining firm Rheinbraun, is a bucket-wheel excavator.

More specifically, it is a mobile strip mining machine.

It can excavate 240,000 tons of coal or 240,000 cubic metres of overburden daily — the equivalent of a football field dug to 30 meters (98.4 ft) deep.
:shock:

"If 40 Krupps with 40 baggers stripped for 40 years,
do you suppose (the Walrus said) the world would still be here?
I doubt it said the Carpenter, and shed a bitter tear." :cry:

{hey, Lewis Carrol.}
