Short summary:

Group of boys stranded on island adopt bloody feudalism, demonstrating Golding's hatred of humanity.

Good enough?

I got that part from reading the back cover. I actually have to *discuss* the stuff.

I've got it all in my head! Isn't that good enough?

I was only going to state that the fact that we have a teacher Mr. Bach who writes "King Bach" on all his belongings is a bitself-centered for a teacher...But that's all on that subject because hippie may try to harm me if I go on any further.....

Soooooo, how about I've discovered my bedroom carpet!

Who says -10. Not -10. more like -0. I jsut don't like the idea of not beign a kid.

-10 would come in when he told me he was pregnant and a chicken was the father.

Besides, I call him a dumbass/smartass/annoyingass all the time. I happen to like people with an ass personality. Why else would I talk with you, my bored-looking Dragon?

Memorial Day for you guys I guess... hope you enjoyed the day and had a chance to reflect on the price of freedom.

I was about 30 I reckon before I could be sure that I would've fought in a war. I was at a Remembrance Day service in the north of England (Lindisfarne in fact) and I realised with absolute conviction that I would have joined up against any clear threat to my family, both childhood and adult, and my country.

I remember when all the draft dodgers were pardoned and my mother almost blew a gasket. She was so pissed that they all got a free pass for not serving while she spent 3 years alone with 3 small children worrying if they would ever see their father again. Then I think about my sister who was apart from her marine husband when he pulled a tour of duty at Guantanamo in Cuba during peacetime. Since Cuba is considered hostile, none of the enlisted men are allowed to bring their dependents with them. She could only visit him occaisionally for his 3 years there.
That's what I think of on Memorial Day, the day to day sacrifices that all military people and their families make. Regardless of peace or times of war, they give up their lives each day to be where they are needed. It takes a special kind of courage and fortitude to be a career military person.
In my hands I hold a candle whose flame is small to see, And if I give but one light to you my life is filled for me.
But...In your hands you hold a torch for many eyes to see, So hold it high that they may light their candlewicks from thee.
