We haven't had a new "Caption It" for a while so here is a new one for you to consider:
"The Republicans are out of favor and the Democrats haven't had a viable candidate since Clinton. I may just have a shot in '08!"

I was thinking of definition #5. Apparently, the other definitions fall more in line with what you meant.

However, "Validated" would have also worked.

Definition #3 fits what I was thinking of, though #2 could been used in jest.
