I did a running visit there on a business trip. We were early back to some airport or other and we reckoned we had time to get there, but delays en route meant that all we could do was stop the car, run across to the river, gawp briefly and drive like fury back to the airport.

Yup, that's English, and I even know what it means...

Can anyone name that tune? (Without Google)

Well you know I'm going to check with some search engine or other, but I'll guess it's Burns. Who else would dare write in Lallands?

(one google later)

..and I didn't know it was part of that little ditty....

Yay. I pretty much approve any nickname for any person. I think I'm going to go read now. Or not. I still have to get up early for school...

How early does everyone else get up?

I want to go there and see the Tesla statue they have.
In my hands I hold a candle whose flame is small to see, And if I give but one light to you my life is filled for me.
But...In your hands you hold a torch for many eyes to see, So hold it high that they may light their candlewicks from thee.

Well, the punchline I guess is that we probably would've had time. When we got back to the airport our flight was delayed by an hour and a half.

Weird Al used to be cool. He wrote the entire plot to SW:Ep1 in the form of "American Pie" the chorus was "My, my, this here Anakin guy; May be Vader someday later; Now he's just a small fry; And he left his home, kissed his mother good bye; Singing soon I'm gonna be a Jedi"

How far is the Tesla Statue from the falls proper?

I think its located by the power plant he helped design. Its still in operation to this day.

It varies; the Calgary office suffers with being in the "last" timezone for our company, so meetings that involve the offices around as far as Germany are sometimes scheduled at 7:00 - 8:00, which usually means be in the office half an hour beforehand, which means getting up at about 5:45 - 6:00. Earlier if I'm on public transport. There's a vicious week in late March where the clocks change, and we're an extra hour adrift. I call it "Ambush Week".

Anybody here have any really stylish jewellery? I need some tips...

When I took the underground in Edmonton, payment appeared to be by honor system. Is it the same in Calgary?

Depends on what your into. Goth, punk, gangsta, emo, classic rocker, pop, country, etc.

What is everyone's "style"(mainly)?

My style is Dom. It's either a mix or lack of everything, depending on how you look at it. I just wear/do/say what I like and come out a pretty neat person.

I am awesome. Hear me... ramble...

I don't have a style. Style is for shallow people.

Hey, i never said what my style was before!! I am punk mixed with emo, a sprinkle of country and 50's, and a hint of rap. And you have me. As far as musicish style. Personality style, well I don't even know.....I am not very good at analyzing my own mind.

I agree with Doe, style is overrated.

Yes and no. You won't be checked for proof of fare every time, but there's a pretty hefty fine if the inspectors happen to get on your train. Buses, the driver checks every time. However there is a section of the transit downtown which is free to ride, about 6 stops.
