I have two guesses, but I can't put a name to either.
Wasn't there a volcano up that way that broke the surface, basically emerging overnight, then eroded away within a short period.
And then I think there's a famously rugged island over there that is considered to be one of most inhospitable places on the planet.
Like I said, though, I can't put a name to either of those places, so I don't if you can consider those as valid.
