I'm going to see Kansas play at the local park, then fireworks display!!! I can't believe the powers that be for our little town got Kansas to be the musical entertainment at the local park celebration. Last year they had Santana, a totally free concert.

I'll probably grill a lot. I like grilling and July is a pretty good time to do it. Of course, I have been known to grill in January too. My grill never gets put away. My oven has gone for many months at a time without being used. To the point where I have to hit the gas valve with something to get it to open the first time when I try to use it.

I was thinking of the bicentennial, and how the upcoming holiday is mentioned in the OP. I guess it is kind of a lame connection.
To answer your question, I don't much care for anything that's burned to a crisp in some places and left somewhat rare in others. Yech.

Yeah, me neither. Haven't you ever had good grilled food? That's sad, actually. I won't say I've never burned anything, but I can prepare a steak at home that far exceeds almost anything you can get at a restaurant. Seared on the outside, pink (not red) on the inside, juicy but not greasy and so tender you can cut it with your fork. You just have to know what you're doing.
Of course, if you don't know what you're doing, you can screw up cheese burgers. And to screw up hot dogs doesn't even require a grill, just ketchup.

Well, an ACME Ghost Detection Machine might come in handy. Do you have one of those? And a grilled steak, medium rare, as we've previously discussed. You see, if you really find the ghost, you may need the stake for protection, but finding a real medium is rare.
