Is needed on I-R-U

Has there not been one
Already now in progress?
check the listing

My head is now wet
Summer rain for my flowers
my hat is missing

Steel wheels on the track
The Rolling Stones on World Tour
or just my train trip

Get the morning chow
Llamas are hungry again
And so we feed them

The kitchen holds my future food
And thus I must go

I don't understand
How people eat that green slime
Sour cream's better.

Guacamole is
food of the gods, you silly
sour cream is goop

O I love them both,
Gooshy greenness and creamy white
Goodness for nachos.

Food: If ever there's
a subject less haikuesque
I will eat my hat.

And now a contest
To see who can make Arneb
Dine on his chapeau

Haiku must be about
nature any other verse is
more properly senryu :D

Indeed you are right,
But your senryu has excess
syllables, so there. :P

Very well, I shall
Attempt to write a haiku
About nature then.

The happy squirrel
Eats seed from the bird feeder;
Out comes the rifle.

Walking through the woods,
Off in the distance I spot
Bigfoot: he runs away.

Llamas are truly
Creatures both noble and proud;
A worthy mascot.

bigfoot syllable
also too many, p m
fix your line then please

deer in my garden
consume my horticulture
damn deer anyway

Fawn in my back yard
locking gaze for a long time
who was more surprised?

spotted young creature
curious walking my way
too young to fear me

Easy rider chick
I can't stop looking at her
vinyl seat cover

(nothing more natural than that...)

just went to the bank
made a big deposit there
didn't help any

(naturally...)

So I'm a smart ass
what did you expect, moron?

Most barbaric is
This thread of pseudo-haikus
With the wrong meter

PostPosted: Mon Aug 13, 2007 9:00 am
by Arneb
But then, barbarism
Is the hallmark of clumsy
amateur poets.

me come your village
Me take your women and loot
me write haiku too

barbarian, eh?
grab a sword and start swinging
call me names will you

do not tell me I
am source of your knockup
remember the mud elephant
wading through the sea
leaves no footprints

(Or is that to many syllables?)

You should be thankful
That I didn't try to write
A sonnet. (*Shudder*)

Using the correct meter:

Kono heya de
Haiku wo kaita
Suteki da ne

8)

Oh, I never saw
haikus with five, not seven
middle syllables .

PostPosted: Wed Aug 15, 2007 10:11 am

please sir or madam
if you don't like my haiku
just bite me, ok?

What do Japanese
people think of these haikus
by the westerners?

Arneb wrote:Oh, I never saw

このへやで
はいくをかいた <- that's seven
すてきだね

It's based on codas, not syllables. :)
