When I was a child
I dreamed like a child of wonder
With my back in the grass
My eyes to the sky to see
I believed in the stars
I knew they cast a spell that I was under
With my fingers in the dirt
I was part of the earth
Every living thing was part of me

But it's gone, it's gone
It's gone, it's gone, gone
I can't feel it
I can't feel it
Must've found a way out my back door
Must've run away out my back door
Because it's gone, gone, gone ...

OT: Melissa Etheridge! Hahahahaha! Oh, but I have a good memory of a backstage ordeal with her and a listener from one of the stations I was with. Ouch. Anyway ...

Beautiful girl lovely dress
High school smiles oh yes
Beautiful girl lovely dress
Where she is now I can only guess
Cause its gone daddy gone
Your love is gone
Gone daddy gone
The love is gone away
When I see you
Eyes will turn blue
When I see you
Thousand eyes turnin blue
Tell by the way you that you switch and walk
I can see by the way that you baby talk
I can know by the way you treat your man
I can love you baby til its a cryin
Beatiful girl lovely dress
15 smiles oh yes
Beautiful girl lovely dress
Where she is now I can only guess

I was all right for a while, I could smile for a while
But I saw you last night, you held my hand so tight
As you stopped to say "Hello"
Aww you wished me well, you couldn't tell

That I'd been cry-i-i-i-ng over you, cry-i-i-i-ng over you
Then you said "so long". left me standing all alone
Alone and crying, crying, crying cry-i-ing
It's hard to understand but the touch of your hand
Can start me crying

I thought that I was over you but it's tru-ue, so true
I love you even more than I did before but darling what can I do-o-o-o
For you don't love me and I'll always be

Cry-i-i-i-ng over you, cry-i-i-i-ng over you
Yes, now you're gone and from this moment on
I'll be crying, crying, crying, cry-i-i-ing
Yeah crying, crying, o-o-o-o-ver you
-Roy Orbison and Joe Melson

OK, BM65. Dish on this ordeal story with Melissa Ethridge. Perhaps in

OK, Kla2: at the last station I was with, we did a giveaway with ME and the winner brought a pack of her friend with. Naturally, they couldn't come with, but they stood in the balcony as while the winner went onstage (before the show) to meet ME. As she came out, the winner basically went apeshit, grinning from ear to ear and spouting the usual gushing fan stuff. Suddenly her friends started chanting "Kiss her! Kiss her!" and the winner grabs ME and plants a HUGE kiss on her, practically knocking her down. She was not happy, and neither were her road manager, the label rep, the venue security or any of us with the station. The winner, of course, was completely obvious to all this, as her friends cheered and yelled for her to do it again. We had to hustle her out, without finishing her getting the prize she had one (something autographed) and then apologize to all involved.

It was just one of those "Aw, shit" situations with people listeners. You could have an IQ of 156 and degrees from universities all around the globe, but once you dial that radio station, your mind will function at the level of a 3-year-old. *shudder*

Crying, waiting, hoping - you’ll come back
I just can’t seem to get you off my mind

Crying, waiting, hoping - you’ll come back
you’re the one I love & I think about you all the time

Crying' -do,do,do- my tears keep a-fallin’ all night long
waitin’ -do,do,do- it seems so useless, I know it’s wrong

To keep a-crying, waiting, hoping - you’ll come back
maybe someday soon things will change & you’ll be mine

When I woke up this morning
You were on my mind
And you were on my mind
I got troubles, whoa-oh
I got worries, whoa-oh
I got wounds to bind

So I went to the corner
Just to ease my pains
Yeah, just to ease my pains
I got troubles, whoa-oh
I got worries, whoa-oh
I came home again ...
- WE FIVE

This was written by Sylvia Tyson of the Canadian folk duo Ian & Sylvia. They recorded it for their 1964 album Northern Journey.
We Five was an American Folk-Rock quintet. When they recorded this, Sylvia Tyson rewrote some of the lyrics, taking out references to getting drunk. This was done to help get airplay for the song.
http://www.songfacts.com/detail.php?id=3875

The line "So I went to the corner
Just to ease my pains
Yeah, just to ease my pains
"
Sounds even more suspicious to me  ... but hey. Got nothing bad to say about Sylvia Tyson. 8)

Great story about Melissa Ethridge, BM65. Yeah. "Celebrities" now have the dubious status once held by religious icons. Sheesh!

Less painful and even more to the point:

she had the sightless eyes telling me no lies
knocking me out with those American thighs
taking more than her share
had me fighting for air
she told me to come but I was already there

These eyes cry every night for you.
These arms long to hold you again.
The hurtin’s on me yeah,
But I will never be free no my baby, no no.
You gave a promise to me yeah and you broke it, you broke it. Oh, no.

These eyes watched you bring my world to an end.
This heart could not accept and pretend.
The hurtin’s on me yeah,
But I will never be free no no no.
You took the vow with me yeah.
You spoke it, you spoke it, babe.

These eyes are cryin’
These eyes have seen a lot of loves
But they’re never gonna see another one like I had with you.
These eyes are cryin’
These eyes have seen a lot of loves
But they’re never gonna see another one like I had with you ...

blinded by a bright beam
shattered by the windscreen
stunned by the whiplash
I'm a victim of a bad crash
I can't do nothin' right
I never sleep at night
can't even start a fight
my feet have left the ground
spinnin' round and round
spellbound
my world keeps a tumblin' down
spellbound
my world keeps a tumblin' down

Spellbound - AC/DC

Blind Faith were a blues-rock band which consisted of Eric Clapton (The Yardbirds, Cream), Ginger Baker (Graham Bond Organisation, Cream), Steve Winwood (Spencer Davis Group, Traffic) and Ric Grech (Family). The band, which was one of the first so-called supergroups, only released one album, Blind Faith, in August 1969.

Top that cast.

{Just a guess, Arnab, but you really like AC/DC, don't you?}

Why would you think that? :-k

Not overly much, actually. But I am fond of them. It's handmade music, which I respect. I explained this some pages up: It happens to be the only pop music I listen to (more the classical guy), and I like the challenge of keeping my head up in this thread on a, shall we say, limited budget. Like, whatever any band ever rhymed, AC/DC will have leered about something like it.

They describe themselves quite accurately:

High. Voltage. Rock'n'Roll.

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,

And never brought to mind?

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,

And days of auld lang syne? And days of auld lang syne, my dear,

And days of auld lang syne.

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,

And days of auld lang syne?

We twa hae run aboot the braes

And pu'd the gowans fine.

We've wandered mony a weary foot,

Sin' auld lang syne.

Sin' auld lang syne, my dear,

Sin' auld lang syne,

We've wandered mony a weary foot,

Sin' auld ang syne.

We twa hae sported i' the burn,

From morning sun till dine,

But seas between us braid hae roared

Sin' auld lang syne.

Sin' auld lang syne, my dear,

Sin' auld lang syne.

But seas between us braid hae roared

Sin' auld lang syne.

And ther's a hand, my trusty friend,

And gie's a hand o' thine;

We'll tak' a cup o' kindness yet,

For auld lang syne.

For auld lang syne, my dear,

For auld lang syne,

We'll tak' a cup o' kindness yet,

For auld lang syne. :D

The lady in red is dancing with me cheek to cheek
There's nobody here, it's just you and me, It's where I wanna be
But I hardly know this beauty by my side
I'll never for get, the way you look tonight

Sunny, yesterday my life was filled with rain
Sunny, you smiled at me and really eased the pain
Oh, the dark days are done
The bright days are here
My sunny one shines so sincere
Sunny one so true
I love you

Sunny, thank you for that sunshine bouquet
Sunny, thank you for the love you brought my way
You gave to me your all and all
Now I feel ten feet tall
Sunny one so true
I love you

Sunny, thank you for the truth you let me see
Sunny, thank you for the facts from a to z
My life was torn like windblown sand
And then a rock was formed when we held hands
Sunny one so true
I love you

Sunny, thank for that smile upon your face
Sunny, thank you for that gleam that flows with grace
Youre my spark of natures fire
Youre my sweet complete desire
Sunny one so true
I love you ...
