Don't know about the Bombers. But the proximity of this house to the airfield is quite central to the plot.

I was going to say Die Harder, but I'm pretty sure that was filmed in Canada, rather than Australia - not to mention that at the time, it certainly wasn't considered a low-budget film.

It's a low budget comedy. One of the main characters drives a tow truck. His name was chosen so that they could use tow trucks from an actual, existence, towing firm in the filming, rather than having to incur the expense of repainting them and putting a fictional name on them.

I think (but am not completely sure) that in the film plot, the airfield is supposed to be the main Melbourne international airport. However, the house is actually located next to another, nearby, airport, which the new Melbourne airport replaced.

Yes, I think we can call it yours. That's the film. They want to expand the airport, and the family doesn't want to sell. The film is The Castle.

It doesn't look old enough to have been in Maximum Overdrive, but that's pretty much my best guess.

It is indeed not old enough. It's from a 1995 sci-fi/action film. An awful one. It's not a unique vehicle in the film, I think they used about 30 of them overall during production, mainly used as futuristic versions of a kind of vehicle which is famously yellow in some parts of the world.
