Google Maps is also kind enough to send along advertisements, which may or may not be relevant, and displays them at the bottom of the map. The ad at the bottom of the latest location reads
New Orleans Strip Club - www.neworleans.pl/ - Warsaw's Most Prestigious Gentlemen's Club

Didn't watch The Sopranos myself - so no idea what it's called.

I'm wondering if, as per the Quotes thread, simply The Sopranos should be accepted as the correct answer?

I can live with that. It is the strip club they used for "Badda Bing".

Mactep, you're up.

I know what, and where, that is, but can't remember ever seeing it in any films.

:( :-(

I could try the blunderbuss technique, and rattle off films that I think might have been filmed in that city.

I think we can accept the what and where.

Aren't we supposed to be guessing films, though? Harder to figure out than what/where (especially when an unscrupulous person could zoom out a wee bit and get that info anyway).

I agree but I got the impression Mactep was just after a location. I took a stroll round the area and realise I wasn't even in the correct city. The bell was the giveaway for me.

Mactep, is it a particular film?

Bugger, I didn't read the OP carefully, I didn't realise they were supposed to be film locations.

The answer is not Saint Petersburg. I do not recall this being in any films, although I guess it is possible that it has been.

Maybe someone who read the OP would like to take a turn?

Ah - in that case.... is it the Tsar Canon in Moscow?

Indeed it is, inside the Kremlin! (And i have been to see it, several times.)

Always fancied visiting Moscow, but haven't managed it yet. I think I'd prefer to visit St Petersburg, anyway.

Right, another very easy one. Which film (heavily) features this location?

The visa is a right royal pain in the arse. Even for some who happen to have been born in the country.

Saint Petersburg is built in conscious imitation of western Europe. I've never been to Amsterdam, but I'm told the former is heavily influence by the latter. Moscow is more, for lack of a better word, "Russian" :)

Not so easy that I can get it.

Huh. I've been by the place a few times, but I never knew that it featured in a film. I don't even have any good guesses, even.

A clue, apart from having the location in the top left of the screen (there's also the fact that the place used it's real name, and was featured inside and out) is that the film won an oscar.

Ok, I now know what city it is, having taken a while to realise it isn't NYC. The only film I can think of set there is "Purple Rain".

There have no doubt been many film and tv scenes on this stretch of road but this is a 1973 film. I tried to find a view without modern buildings in it as our hero travelled most of the length of this street.

I made a wild guess and Googled, but the film I thought of was 1971. So I know at least one incorrect answer.

The next film I guess was also 1971. So I guess I have 1971 on the brain.
Was it a film in which an English actor takes over a role previously played by a Scottish actor?
No but the correct city.
