That was my thought. My next thought was that maybe the x-axis is income, but that thought only lasted a second or two.

No sir.

Nothing to do with age. Nothing to do with income. Nothing financial at all.

Yes.

And 0 on the X axis = 1 on the Y axis. As X increases linearly, Y increases in multiples.

Okay, you get 7x more at 18K, 9x more at 23K, 14x more at 28K, 57x more at 41K, etc.

Is the y-axis a risk ratio, eg for a health condition, like, 57 times the background risk of lung cancer after inhaling 41k cigarettes?

Exposure to radiation increasing as altitude increases? Which could be dubbed the Enzo - Mactep scale running from radiation free to glow-in-the-dark.*

*if my recollection that Enzo hasn't flown in decades is correct.

Careful, Icarus - if you get this one correct, you'll HAVE to propose a graph of your own this time...

Not to rain in on anyone's party, but IIRC, a transatlantic flight is about as much radiation expusure as a chest x-ray, and if you've got one CT of a large body region, that's equivalent to a frequent flyer account on any airline, crappy or not.

NOW I look forward to seeing Heid's graph. How about yearly income vs. percentage of successful court cases in Scottish lawyers?

So we change from red to blue in 1992, about the same time the graph plateaus, and the prediction is that it will continue to fall. Welcome to "State the obvious Friday, with Heid the Ba'".
