Sanity Test....

Postby Cyndi » Thu May 04, 2006 3:23 pm

As we all get older, I'm sure that, like me, you would like to stay 'alive 'n sharp' for as long as possible. The harsh reality is, however, that none of us live forever, and one of these days each one of us is likely to finally lose our smarts. If you're like me, you will want to know when that happens so that you don't embarrass either yourself or your loved ones, so I'm convinced that each of us should take a good hard look at ourselves from time to time. This should help get you started with the process:

During a visit to a hospital for the mentally infirm, a visitor asked the Director what the criterion was that defined whether or not a patient should be institutionalized.

"Well," said the Director, "we fill up a bathtub; then we offer a teaspoon, a teacup and a bucket to the patient and ask him or her to empty the bathtub."

"Oh, I understand," said the visitor. "A normal person would use the bucket because it's bigger than the spoon or the teacup."

"No," said the Director, "a normal person would pull the plug. Do you want a bed by the wall or near the window?"

I agree. And I'm certainly not a Satiny worshipper, despite my avatar.

...Oh, sanity! Nevermind.

Satiny sheets to cry on,
Sanity tests to lie on.
Still I'm not insane now, don't you see.

It is not a bad thing to admire satin.
Is Lone trying to spell “Satan”?

Does he realize his avatar has a pentagram on it?
Does he know what this means?

Stay tuned...

Thank you, Bill, for trying to explain puns back to those who make them.

Those evil Satin worshippers. I bet they also study the political philosophies of Linen.

(Oh, and you should ask for the bed near the wall. If you ask for the bed near the window, you'll be tempted to look out the window, and you should never turn your back on folks in a mental hospital.

You should also ask for the teaspoon for the bathtub. Time passes faster when you have a lot to do.)

Do you even know what a "joke" or a "pun" is?

Santa is Satan for the dyslexic. "Satiny" is "Sanity" for the dyslexic.

There's a joke here. See if you can spot it!

Oh, also, something you might find interesting: http://altreligion.about.com/library/gl ... ymbols.htm

(I kinda doubt that Alucard's symbol has anything to do with Wicca, but nonetheless)

I heard a rumor once that KISS actually stands for "Knights in Satin Sheets". I didn't pay attention to it because it made no sense.

More history on the Pentagram, for the stubbornly ignorant or the curiously ignorant:

http://altreligion.about.com/library/we ... 00102a.htm

This is just stuff I've found with a google search. If you trust Wikipedia more:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentagram

Compare it with the Pentacle:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentacle

I wonder if Bill Thompson knows what it means?

Some interesting things:
Wikipedia wrote:Christians once commonly used the pentagram to represent the five wounds of Jesus, but its more modern associations are with either Neopagans or Satanists.

"Neopagans" (i.e., Wiccans), are not Satanists.

I just want to drive this point home for Thompson.

The Southern Christian bible belt people made that one up. And the band did not want to discuss it because it brought more exposure and more dollars to them. I saw a special about them and they talked a lot about this.
