Does anyone remember the woman, the Commander she was called, who reported for jury duty in Little Rock at the White Water trial, dressed in a Star Trek Next Generation uniform? Complete with toy phaser and tricoder. Because the trial involved President Clinton, she made national news. There are people like that out there.

They made her an alternate, but she never had to serve on the jury.
I remember seeing a thing on tv about trekkies. There was a dentist in Florida. All his employees had to wear Starfleet medical uniforms at work.
