Pop star Britney Spears may have learned her lesson about driving with her baby on her lap, but she reportedly violated California law on infant car seats.

The Malibu, Calif., resident made headlines in February when she was photographed driving with her son, Sean Preston, on her lap. In her latest child safety faux pas, she was snapped driving with the 8-month-old slumped face forward in a car seat, the New York Daily News said Tuesday.

Federal regulations call for child seats to face backward until the infant is a year old, and unless she rights the wrong, Spears, 24, could wind up being ticketed under a California law that says child car seats should be installed according to the federal standard.

Authorities said they cannot ticket the pregnant mom based on a photograph.

Spears and husband Kevin Federline were cleared by California child welfare authorities of any wrongdoing after Sean Preston suffered a head injury by falling from his high chair last month.
