I'm trying to split the flaming the starts in other threads in other fora out into threads hear. What you guys do in here I couldn't care less, but I am getting real tired of real conversations degenerating into flame wars.

I think Lonewulf is a degenerate that didn't graduate from high school because he is stupid. He plays games with swords to feel empowered, but he will never be empowered without education. He is trying to get back into education, but my odds for this are slim. :?

How odd two people can have two completely different impressions of the same person.
Lonewulf comes across to me as an articulate person with tenacity and an extremely bright future.
Regarless of his formal education, he has obviously spent considerable time educating himself. While a formal education looks good on paper, it hardly gives an accurate snapshot of one's potential or ability.
Lonewulf is very popular and a entertaining . His posts are some of the most well though out words by far. When he posts in the games/fun areas, he always displays wit and a sharp sense of humour. Just my opinion.

He's never been mean to me. We do not agree on the existance of a higher being and had a heated debate on the subject but neither of us took it past the topic and into the realm of personal. What I mean to say is just because you cannot agree on something doesn't mean the other person is stupid.
We had our discussion, presented our arguments and found that neither of us would be changing our position. We did this over a series of days without resorting to personal attacks. Although neither of us swayed the other, I think we both went away with more respect for each other.
Obviously you and Lonewulf had some sort of falling out but how is it helping you to simply lash out at him? It does not make you appear in an attractive way. Even less so because he keeps replying he doesn't want to pointlessly argue with you. You really should read what you have posted from the perspective of a third person, I think you'll see what I mean.
I hope you work out whatever issues you may have with Lonewulf, you're much more enjoyable when you are not trying to tear someone down.

In laymen's terms:

You're making yourself look like a villan and Lonewulf look like a victum.
In my hands I hold a candle whose flame is small to see, And if I give but one light to you my life is filled for me.
But...In your hands you hold a torch for many eyes to see, So hold it high that they may light their candlewicks from thee.

Edited because I don't want to go there.

I'd be curious to know what Candy said before she edited all her posts, though...

It takes two to make an argument. OK OK at least two then. HAving to have the last word never ended an argument. Taking every opportubuty to berate someone with whom you are having a disagreement with never ended an argument.

Letting it go and moving on always ends an argument. it leaves one person either to rant on alone or to move on as well.

"I gotta get you back" doesn't work as can be seen in the Middle East. There is no end to it.

Fighting is out of style, fun is where it's at.

Thanks for backing me up, Teri, and the nice words that you've said. However, I must say that Candy is somewhat justified in what she's doing, as I went out of my way to attack her. Turnabout is fair play, after all.

However, I was speaking not just for myself, but I was voicing the opinions of many. That's why I feel justified in what I did. Anyways, I've wound down from that point, and until/unless Candy winds me back up, there should be very few Wulf Attacks.

You are very welcome, Wulfie, although I disagree with your assessment that the attack was unfounded as you probably didn't see the original written stuff. You may have noticed that Candy thought better of her words and edited everything she could. I'm glad she did as it was not pleasant and in my opinion way over the line.
She's a decent person when she wants to be and so are you. Me, I just don't like seeing pointless attacks.

Oh, I didn't say your attacks were unfounded. I'm just saying that she had a pretty good reason for attacking me. While she did go over the line, so did I. I can't fault her for that.

Doesn't mean that you can't point out the ludicrousness of her statements.

She was just upset and lashing out. I think she's over it now. :)

That's good advice, Bill. Is this something you learned recently?

I learned it 15 years ago and apply it often.

Oh, okay then. Maybe you could include forum posting as a place where you apply it?

sure. Just search apollohoax.net or unmannedspaceflight.com; I apply it on each posting I have made on those websites.
