Bill, they are radicals regardless of their thoughts on Brittney Spears. AS far as I know, there is no criterion as to Spears assessments when it comes to defining radical. That is the point, Bill, she IS representative of our western culture. No wonder they select a picture of her as an icon of the US. They could have selected an SUV full of Velveeta driven by a soccer mom yakking on a cell phone, but that picture doesn't instantly communicate anything. That they may be "right" about Brittney in any sense doesn't alter the fact that they are radical Islamists.

Our whole western culture is immoral to them. Our women walk around with their hair uncovered, their faces exposed, their legs, arms, cleavage, stomachs, etc all showing. Not only that, our women drive cars, get educations, hold jobs and careers. All of this is immoral to them. There is nothing about Brittney in particular other than her visibility adn accessiblity as an example of western decadence.

I believe raping a woman is considered to be shaming her, and as acceptable as "honor killing". It wouldn't be "sex outside of marriage", it would be a punishment.

I think it also might depend on which country. Every country translates it's major religion differently. For instance, Catholocism and Christianity are regarded differently here than in Europe.

This article refers to law in Iraq, under which rape implemented as punishment for an honor crime, while still illegal, carries a lower penalty than other rapes. Note in particular the first and sixth paragraphs.

You made the point that it's a matter of opinion. Then you went ahead and said that, since her opinion does not agree with yours, she must "wish she was Britney Spears". She couldn't just, say, think that Spears has talent, right?
