Yes indeed - but with a reply from the neutrals. A message there for those who have a problem with migrants.

It could have gone a lot worse yesterday, and it's only Orbánistan you're up against. Hey, we had the same situation last time around and look how swimmingly everything went from there..., err  .

On yesterday's showing, Denmark could quite possibly beat Serbia. I see that that match takes place at exactly the same time as England v Slovenia, which will do our boys good. They won't know the outcome of the Denmark-Serbia match, but they will know that if we lose to Slovenia and Denmark beats Serbia, we're out. There is of course the risk that, on the basis that a draw against Slovenia is good enough for us to go through, whatever happens, they just shut the game down. Which would make for a boring match. But at least they'll know that they had better not lose.

Meanwhile, Germany goes through regardless. They can shoot 5 into the Swiss net, they can shut it down for a 0-0 draw, they can even shoot 5 into their own net and it won't matter. (OK, given the matches are being played on home turf, option 3 is probably not wise!) Come on, Scotland, give Orbánistan a thorough kick in the nuts to go through - it'll be fun!

Oh dear, Netherlands v France. Not fond of either side. Well, I suppose that means I won’t be too bothered who wins and can enjoy the football.

I never did post predictions. As for Netherlands vs France, has to be France. Auld alliance and centuries of friendship vs the (ahem) "Glorious Revolution" and resultant turmoil? No contest.

Ned-Fra goalless sounds a bit weird for these teams. And I couldn't be made to care either, although I do find Griezman to be quite the unpleasant type.

It did, didn't it!

Anyway, on to today.

Georgia v Czechia. I know virtually nothing of Georgia, other than they've just passed a law Putin will like. So I guess Czechia.
Erdostan v DDD: we're all agreed that we don't like DDD, so Erdostan, I guess
Frites-Eaters v Vampires: definitely the frites-eaters!

Georgia bity against Czech Republic, 1 all.

The 2 - 0 of the DDDs against Erdostan was a howler! Hot material for Kacktor des Monats.

Wow, the DDD himself, THE DDD, lets a teammate score when they both run towards the goal? He's becoming downright generous. 3-0, should be a done deal.

And 3 - 0 it ended. I was on call dicatating discharge summaries and watched it over the net with half an eye, or maybe more than half an eye. Was a fun game to watch, as long as you didn't root for Erdostan too much.

"I was on call dictating discharge summaries . . ."
Tell him to fuck off and not come back.
Give her a follow up appointment with someone else for next week, and hand her her belongings in a carrier bag.
Eh, they'll be back in two day; Munchausen.
Christ only knows what's wrong with this one, hopefully their GP will sort it . . .
Get it up ye.

Switzerland 1 - 1 Germany

Good reminder that we are still an average team that another average team can easily control and out-counter.

Played 183, won 86, drawn 38, lost 59.

Oh dear, Scotland, you could have done it. Hungary, on the other hand, are probably out, too. Three points and a GD of -3 should be far too little to advance,

My favourite university exam question was from British History 1: "The Glorious Revolution was neither. Discuss. 10 marks."

Ha! Schluchtistan win against the Kaasköppe and win the group because Frogs can't win against dodgy plumbers. That's what happens when you hire a German manager, right?
