I could not not make our football conoisseurs aware of this equisite collection of fumbles, own goals, pinball scenes and unwanted rebounds. The price, Shite Goal of the Month, is awarded as a viewers' prize from a shortlist of between five and twelve goals, by Zeiglers wunderbare Welt des Fußballs, a weekly after hours part satirical, part fandom football show on our public television. This video presents the monthly winners from the segment's first ten years The short animation before each goal is plucked from the legendary Goal of the Month/Year/Decade/Century segment of German Public Television's six o'clock on Saturday sports show. 120 masterworks, each a shining, glittering gem of football fuckuppery. I am positively astounded Hertha and SpVgg don't feature more often.

And indeed, No. 2 (haha) has won. It was FC Carl Zeiss Jena against, well, SV Babelsberg 03. The scorer, forward Elias Löder, already won a proper "Goal of the Month", a technically perfect overhead kick against... well you know whom - against Hertha, even if it was only against the farm team. I should probably not cheer for Elias Löder!
