And Bill, you have to answer one or the other, none of that "well I was..."

Looks like he doesn't want to answer the question at all.

Welll... he did leave the forum in a huff over an issue. I'll give him a chance.

Lonewulf wrote:Hell, I don't have much interest in ETI. I mean, if they find some bacteria or fungus or whatever, great. If an alien civilization contacts us, that'll change my life about as much as it would change everyone's life (our perceptions of the universe, our perceptions of an alien race, etc.)
I really don't care. But what I do care about is a debasement of science, and taking the words of Fermi and twisting it to his own goals, and a debasement of a scientific organization (SETI) on unfounded principles. I have never claimed that SETI was perfect, or that it couldn't do with any real changes. But Bill has done nothing but use Arguments from Authority from arguments that didn't exist, and continue to speak down to those that disagreed with him.
Only at one point did Bill actually say something that was even vaguely accurate, and give a good reason for it.
See, I call out bullshit when I see it. Bill reeks of bullshit.
