What the heck is wrong with people nowadays?

Postby Diana30 » Mon May 08, 2006 2:39 am

OK, yes I am crazy here I am again.

I just really wanted to relate something that happened to me the other day.

Well, there I was talking with a friend of mine on the Messenger that I have known (but not in person) for at least 6 months already. I gained a lot of confidence in him I quess because of the way he would express himself and by many other things. Anyway, he had just bought a cam that day and asked me if I wanted to see him and I said well, yes. Well when I accepted I could not believe what I was seeing, he was showing me his THING..! yes that THING. All I could see on the screen was this big ugly red thing. I know it sounds terrible but it's true. I was totally freaked out. I would have never expected something like that from him. We never ever discussed anything related to sex nor did I ever give him any reason to do that. Shit I am still freaking out over this. I mean I thought he was really my freind but I quess not.....

Dam, one thing is for sure though this guy got to get some plastic surgery or something.....that thing was horrible.

Unbelievable!

You should contact the authorities. I'd hate to see someone get hurt by a pervert like that.

Just go's to show that it is better never to trust anyone you meet on the Internet.

I don't know that this phenomenon is limited to the internet, but I think Teri Tait made a good point in another thread:

That said, provided you haven't given out any person information, it should be much easier, should you choose to do so, to break off contact with a former internet friend, than a former friend IRL...

I agree with KOS. Awhile back when Diana and I got to know each other a bit and exchanged a few emails, I sent her some racy pics of men in kilts. But I was careful to warn her they were explicit and made sure she actually wanted to see them because they were like joke pictures. :) Remember that Diana?
I used to have a picture of an absolutely enormous woman in a scanty negligee that I would send out to annoying men who pestered for cybersex that I met when playing pool on yahoo. :) Cooled their jets nicely.

Yeah, I remember those pics alright.....

The thing that bothered me the most about this guy is that he seemed so nice, serious and honest. That is why it surprised me so much.

Hi Diana - that really sucks. I was talking to Teri about this not too long ago, and I don't think it's just an Internet phenomenon. I've met good as well as scary people on the Internet.

Still, this guy is totally creepy. It's funny you say you've known him about six months, because I've always believed six months is about how long it takes to get to know anyone in real life or the internet when it comes to freakiness, so you're right in my window. :D

That would be totally shocking, out of the blue like that. What did you say to him?

Hi SciFi Chick..

Yes six months. I know it is a long time, but we would only chat off and on. I don't have much time to get on the messenger, but when I do it was usually to chat with this person. He probably would have done that sooner I don't know, but he did not have a cam until recently.

Hmmm... what would you say to something like that?

I'd probably go with, "Ew."

[edited to say: This was a response to teri not Diana, and this is what I get for not hitting the quote button.]

I was freaked out, so I really did not say anything. Not only that, but I had alot of people around me at the time and the only thing that came to my mind was to get that thing off of the screen. I am not even sure if someone saw it, but if they did they are probably thinking I am wierd.........

Hi Diana,

How terrible for you!!

What a jerk - I hope you removed or blocked him from any list in messenger. Don't give him the consideration of even chatting with you again.

I agree with Lance. You should report it.

Isn't there a web site out there to report this type of stuff? Something sticks in the back of my mind that there is. I would Google it but I am at work and don't want those red flags going off on my account.

Google master Lance... found something yet?? (tee hee).

I'm very sorry this happened to you, but I'm glad it was before you took the time to meet him.

When you tried to quote Cyndi earlier... Never mind, it's fixed now anyway and you did the next one right.
