Nominations for New Forum Name

Postby Lance » Mon May 15, 2006 4:35 pm

This forum is currently named:

[strike]Candy[/strike] [strike]Llama[/strike] [strike]Monique[/strike] Land of the Lost

I think the joke is well past it's day though, so lets pick a new name.

Should I just go back to Llama Land?

Any other ideas?

Make your nominations here and I'll pick a few and put them to a vote.

Of course, if someone proposes something that really Rox my Sox, I may just change it on the spot.

I think that is the best, given the way there seem to be loads of free-ranging llamas around here...

Somehow, I don't think that's going to end up as a popular favorite.

Oh, Lonewulf, that's exactly what my son would say! I think that perhaps Fantasy Land might apply well in this situation? Image

I'll have to go with Llama Land. It has better credibility, more political experience, and a platform I can relate with.

So, is that a new word for you? You seem to be enjoying it immensely.

Edit to add:
When I first heard it at GLP, I got a big kick out of it myself.

I love the one definition they have at The Urban Dictionary:

The Urban Dictionary wrote:fucktard
n.
(FUHK-tahrd)
A word used to express the sentiments of calling someone a 'retard' by one who also feels the need to swear at the same time.
Unsurprisingly, the people most likely to use this word are also the people most accurately described by it.

Well, definitely new within the last year. And, as much as people like to beat up on Bill_Thompson, I thought his two posts in the Fucktards thread (unfortunately now deleted) were hysterical...

I had an idea once that I would write a script that would put a random username in front of "Land". But it would be easier to have it just display the name of the current user, so it would be different for who ever looked at it.

And then when people refer to some thread there, they can get in a big argument over where the thread is located.

It's in Umop Land.

No it isn't, it's in Dragon Star Land, just check.

I checked, and you're both wrong, it's in Khruschchev's Other Shoe Land.

etc.

That would totally rawk! :D

Reminds me of a mod I've seen used on an Invision board, which creates a [you] tag that gets turned into the name of whoever is reading the page. (I forget what shows for guests.) Took people by surprise when it got used in holiday threads and everyone saw their own name out of the blue. Anyway, that'd make it easier to refer to the forum because one might post "moving this to [you] Land" or something like that. :D

ETA: has today been the day for simulposts or what? :P

I figured visitors would see "Llama Land", but anything can be the default.

<insert name here>

Hmmm...

That may be a good one.
